| The Running Man Nebula (NGC 1977) is a bright reflection clould within the Orion Nebula. Reflection nebula are caused by light from hot young stars reflecting off a dense gas and dust cloud positioned behind them. Reflection Nebula shine in blue light because blue light scatters more effectively than longer wave lengths of the light spectrum. |
