Star cluster M16 and it's associated nebula IC4703 are located in the constellation Serpens, 7,000 LY from our Solar
System.  Only 5 million years old, this young system is estimated to be 15 LY across.  Also known as the Eagle Nebula,
this huge cloud of gas and dust is an active birth place of new stars.  These young energetic stars ionize the surrounding
Hydrogen gas, which causes it to emit light.
