M106 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation of Canes Venatica at an estimated distance of 25 million LY from
Earth.  Having a similar orientation as M31, it's spiral structure is apparent in long exposure photographs.  It
is an x-ray source and is suspected to contain a super-massive blackhole of up to 36 million solar masses.
Although once listed as a Seyfert Galaxy due to observed emission line spectra from it's nuclei, modern day
sources seldom mention it.
